Well thats the end of the ‘show’ year for us at Figures in Comfort and what an end it was!
From the start of September until the end of November we attended 10 shows in 13 weekends ranging as far afield as Newbury, Reading and Antwerp. All of the shows were excellent and we were glad to meet friends old and new during our travels.
During this period we made a number of changes to the company, some significant others not so significant but important none the less.
The biggest change has to be the agreement with Westwind Productions to be the official show stockist for them. This means that, except for Salute, we will be the main point of contact for Westwind at shows. We currently carry the Secrets of the Third Reich range and the Forged In Battle range, but will be expanding this further over the coming year.
Another change has been to our foam trays. We now use a denser foam pad for the base of our trays than before. We know that this pad does not cause paint to be rubbed off of miniatures thanks to testing carried out by ourselves and this is in line with the fact that the slightly firmer foam we use for the tray bodies has been tested to ensure no damage will occur from there either. The reason for moving to a denser base pad is to eliminate the excessive ‘bending’ or ‘collapsing’ of the foam tray when it has been loaded with metal miniatures. This is an issue many of you have commented on in the past so hopefully we have the answer.
We have increased the range of Litko we stock to include thier ‘Steampunk Wars’ range of markers, which are suitable for the Dystopian Wars game system amongst others.
And we changed the website! We now sell trays according to the pattern of the cut required and then the depth of the tray required. We beleive this has streamlined the system, but also increased the range of options available to the customer. It has meant we had to change the brochure as well, but we like the outcome and hope you do to.
Well thats all for now, we hope you have a good festive season and look forward to starting it all again with Vapnartak in York in February.
